Batch Rename Multiple Files by Rules or Excel Lists

Select and Add Files

Configure Renaming Rules
Set up your rules across the six tabs. You can combine rules from multiple tabs at the same time—such as replacing text while adding sequential numbers and dates—and check the result live in "Rename Preview". Click "Reset tab" to restore only the current tab to its defaults.
Numbers & Names
Choose a "File name structure" from "None", "Number + original", "Numbers only", or "Number + custom". Combine this with the "Sort" menu above the preview to order files by name or modified date before numbering.

File name (Ascending) / File name (Descending) (natural numeric sorting such as 1, 2, 10)

Updated date (Ascending) / Updated date (Descending) (orders files by last modified timestamp)
Set "Start number" to begin from 0 or any custom number, and use "Zero padding" to format numbers with 2 digits (01, 02...) up to 5 digits (00001...).
Replace & Delete
Enter "Text to replace" and "Text to replace with" to swap characters or words. Leave "Text to replace with" blank to delete the matched text.
Click "Add replacement input field" to run multiple replacements at once, or turn on "Remove (1) numbering" to strip trailing parenthesized numbers like (1) or (2).
Add Text
Enter text in "String to add" to insert a prefix or suffix at the "Beginning", "Tail (before ext.)", or "After extension" of every file name.
Add Date
Choose a timestamp under "Select the date to add" and pick a "Date format" (such as YYYYMMDD or YYYY-MM-DD) to insert into each file name.

Rename from List, Case & Extension, Position and Delimiter
Rename from List & Case Conversion
Under "Rename from List", paste columns copied from Excel or text (one file name per line) to give each file a specific name. Under "Case & Extension", convert the entire file name or only the extension to uppercase or lowercase.
Add Position and Delimiter
For sequential numbers and dates, choose "Beginning", "Tail (before ext.)", or "After extension" under "Add Position", and pick "Underscore ( _ )", "Hyphen ( - )", "Dot ( . )", or "None" under "Delimiter".
Preview & Download ZIP
Review the before and after names in "Rename Preview". Click any output file name in the list to edit that single file manually. When ready, click "Rename and Download" or "Download" to save all renamed files together as a single ZIP archive.
